“Don’t let the fear of what could be ruin the joy of what is.”
Let fear go- even for just a second and let yourself just be in the moment. Don’t worry about the judgment from others or your own silly little voice in your head whispering those little lies and self doubts to you. Let yourself feel free in knowing everything will be ok. I mean honestly, it will be- even if you fall flat on your face (quite literally or figuratively) you will pick yourself up. It’s human nature, we fight to survive.
This philosophy is not just for the mat, but can be spread through our daily lives in small choices or big life decisions. Consider what is holding you back from what you most desire to do. Is it your finances? Not knowing the outcome? Possible rejection? Not feeling comfortable with what others will say or think? It is all really related to fear. Do yourself a favor and list all of the worst possible outcomes of what could happen if you did those desired things and after you’ve done that, list all the possible worst case scenario solutions. If those terrible things that you imagined happened- how would you dig yourself out and go on? I mean let’s face it, we have all dug ourselves out of at least one really crumby and terrible situation only to realize we are stronger than we thought we were. Once you have done that you realize that you would actually make it through such an awful scenario of it happened to you.
Then guess what? You now have the POWER over your fear. Take that fear out for a test drive. Enjoy the ride and if you fall off, get back on and buckle up. You are allowed to make mistakes in this life and live as large as you want to.
If you never take that leap you will never understand the power of this life we are given. The best way to start fully living your life and understand what that freedom feels like is to do those small things you always talk yourself out of; compliment that stranger on their outfit, ask a good looking person on a date, jump from down dog into crow, whatever it is just go for it! And when you go for it, enjoy the ride even if it gets bumpy 😁
